Add LiveSide to your Space!

Adding modules to your space is pretty easy now - let's take the example of adding a LiveSide feed module to your space.  All you have to do is look at the LiveSide module on this space, and click on the plus sign in the top right corner. Then click "Add to your space". This adds a Feeds module to your site.  For some modules that's all you have to do, but to add feeds there's one more step.

When you click on add to your space, Spaces will take you to your space (you need to be signed in to the live id of the space you want to add to).  Once you're there, you will see a "feed" module has been added.  Click on edit on the feed module, and in the url box, fill it in with http://feeds.feedburner.com/liveside. (the http:// will already be there, just fill in the rest).  You can change the title of the feed module, too (say, to: LiveSide is my Favorite Windows Live Site!!!)

Save your changes, and that's it!  Now whenever we post some Windows Live news and information, the post title will show up on your site in the LiveSide feed module!

ScottIsAFool: Live Writer Plugin - Spaces Emoticons

Here's a nice little tool from our friend Scott, a Windows Live Writer plugin that adds Emoticons to your Live Writer Spaces entries.  Very nice!

Windows Live Spaces Tour

Moz, Spaces Group Program Manager, points out a  Flash tutorial on how to add, edit, and manage Friends and Friends lists on Spaces. Although right now the music is driving me crazy, the tutorial is kind of cool.  Check it out.

Spaces improvements

Spaces continues to improve, with many of the glitches that plagued the upgrade behind us now.  And this word tonite from the Space Craft, that more bug fixes are just around the corner: http://thespacecraft.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!8AA773FE0A12B9E3!24106.entry
Add to that, Thomas J is reporting that Statistics is fixed: http://t.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!8450BABD710340F7!430.entry
Thanks to all of you who added LiveSide as your friend, we really appreciate it.  We'll keep accepting friends, so pass the word along!

Dealing with pending requests

Woohoo up to 44 Friends!  Thanks for reading LiveSide!

One of the first things I heard about when Windows Live Spaces arrived was that dealing with pending requests could be a bit bothersome.  So when I opened this new user account to manage LiveSide on Spaces, I was happy to find the pending requests feature in Messenger, which opens when I log on to the account.

.

Clicking on the pending request link takes me to a window where I can manage multiple requests at once.  The requests can be for "active contact updates" (btw is the new name for Live Contacts the Spaces equivalent of IE7+??  I hope so), or for pending requests for friends.

(thanks Lebo and Maff for posing).  Well hopefully you'll soon have lots of friends on Spaces and find this as useful as me.  Of course you still have your (unread) email request in your inbox, although I think you can turn email notifications off.  That's it for now.  Another friends request just popped up as I was writing this, gotta go.  You guys are great!

Welcome to LiveSide on Spaces

We thought we'd try out Spaces a bit, here, and give you a chance to add LiveSide as a friend on your Spaces page.  Take a look around (not much to see, yet) and feel free to add LiveSide as your friend!
